BACK TO THE BASICS
As a Mompreneur, you now have your savvy business name, superb products and the drive to do it better than anybody else. Now what?
There are 5 KEY elements to knowing how to Sell your products and how to Market your business Effectively:
1. PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE - Know your product, at least 80% of testable knowledge. Meaning that if someone asks you general questions or highly specific questions, you're prepared. Clients will feel at ease, if not impressed that you know your stuff and that they're in good hands.
2. IDENTIFY YOUR TARGET MARKET - Know who your trying to reach. Is it moms with toddlers, tweens, newborns? Expectant Mom's? Children with Special Needs? The more specific, the more focused you can be with your marketing and prospects. Down the line this will save you much more dollars in terms of advertising, marketing materials and promotional products.
3. BUILD YOUR ELEVATOR PITCH - This is your sales story in about 30 seconds. When asked, "So tell me about your business?" You should be able to be descriptive, but direct about who you are. If you're lucky, they may give you a full minute or two, but if you can engage them in a conversation within 30 seconds, the better.
4. SHARE YOUR MESSAGE WITH ENTHUSIASM - This is key. Think about when someone is trying to get your business. Do you really want to spend your hard earned dollars on something that doesn't make you all that excited or happy? I know I don't. That's why it's so important to deliver your message with enthusiasm, followed by a willingness to help and excellent customer service. Because if you don't get their business this time, they may come back willingly when a need or want arises next time around.
5. BUILD ON CURRENT RELATIONSHIPS - This is a real dealbreaker and good reason why businesses fail. Each customer, whether HUGE or SMALL should be treated well, treated with mutual respect. Integrity is all part of marketing and good reason why people come back as a client or stay with you through thick and thin. It's the Full Package Experience.
